In order for me to get the best possible painting of your pet, I need a high quality photograph. Most people tend to use their phones or tablets as they now have very good cameras, this is fine, but a good camera may work better if its available. My advice is that you take a wide range of photos so that you can be sure to provide me with the best possible photo for a portrait. A high quality Photo is key to a pet portrait, the better quality the photo, the better the portrait will be as I can see the details more clearly especially the eyes.

Ideally take the photo close to the pet, as it will get a clearer focus on the fine details when zoomed in. Also make sure the lighting is good and even if possible, it can be best to use natural light or take the photo outside. It can also help to get a dog treat to keep their attention looking towards the camera.
